Sharon Green is Deputy Head of the National Centre for Food Manufacturing and lead for Apprenticeships and Business Partnerships.

Her food manufacturing and farming sector expertise was developed whilst working in senior Technical and Operations Management roles within the meat and fresh produce food industry, for suppliers of a wide range of products to major supermarkets and food manufacturing sectors.

Sharon joined the University of Lincoln’s Holbeach Campus in 2003 after 15 years within the industry. As a Professor of Vocational Education and Skills Development she directs strategic employer partnerships to meet the needs of the food and drink manufacturing sector through further and higher educational programmes and bespoke programmes that drive innovation, performance management and knowledge across the sector.

Key areas of interest include: Educational systems and processes, Food Industry Quality, Safety and Hygiene Control Systems, Advanced Food Process Technologies.

Sharon is passionate about the educational and skills development of those already within industry but also those seeking their first steps into the working world and as a driven expert in her field, she hopes to support the Smart Manufacturing Alliance team as they the development a world class manufacturing cluster.
