Mark Lewis appointed to the Smart Manufacturing Alliance Advisory Board

Mark Lewis, Group Managing Director for Peterborough based Omega Sinto Foundry Machinery Ltd has been appointed to the Advisory Board of the Smart Manufacturing Alliance (SMA).

Mark, who is an electrical engineer by trade, joined Omega Sinto over 25 years ago being appointed as Engineering Director in 2005 and then Managing Director in 2011.

The Smart Manufacturing Alliance’s Advisory Board includes 20 industry specialists and experts from academia and research bodies who provide accountability for the team and guide their direction, ensuring they address the most pressing needs for the manufacturing sector across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.

The Alliance is a joint venture between the Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Combined Authority and Peterborough’s economic development company, Opportunity Peterborough. The network is tasked with creating a world-class manufacturing cluster in the region, working with manufacturers of all shapes and sizes to help them boost their performance, take full advantage of new technologies, and create fresh opportunities to increase productivity, innovation and research and development.

Upon the appointment, Mark Lewis, said, “I am delighted to take on this new role and I am looking forward to working closely with the board and growing the SMA for the benefit of manufacturing companies in the region. With over 25 years’ experience in Cambridgeshire I am passionate about supporting local manufacturing companies to fulfil their potential.
