2012 to 2018 Chief Executive Officer Redring Xpelair – a £50m sales revenue business operating within the heating and ventilation division of Glen Dimplex
Turnaround in 18 months by delivering innovative market leadership and increasing its gross margin by 8 %age points, focusing the business on energy efficiency, renewables and sustainability.

Recruited and developed key executives and supporting teams, enabling them to drive growth organically through a culture of high-end customer service.

Institute of Directors (IOD):
Manufacturing Ambassador for East of England. Working with the central policy office of the IOD as the voice of local industry in shaping policy and lobbying central and local government.

Cambridge Judge Business School:
Senior Coach and Mentor to Accelerate Cambridge, the Business School’s startup accelerator
Enabling and nurturing venture creation out of Cambridge. This is delivered via a structured program of entrepreneurship training, regular coaching and mentoring of highly technically competent people to create commercially viable businesses. These have included the development of deep tech-based solutions for electronic hardware, A I software development, logistics/retail platform software development, biotech, med tech and fintech, as well as the development of A I and machine learning for traditional legacy applications.

Rexton Technology UK:
Non-Exec Director of the UK arm of the privately owned, UAE headquartered, Kingston Holdings, a leading manufacturer of electrical and electronic products
Have provided strategic advice and personally led operational and process change which has resulted in 100% increase in revenues. Currently working to expand product ranges and channels with the emphasis on energy efficiency and environmental sustainability

Enviro-Cool:
Advisor to the CEO. Initially provided strategic advice to the CEO and Board and subsequently have led the commercial function to introduce new cooling technology from the IP stage to preproduction, helping it to engage with the market through my network in the consumer appliance industry. In addition, advised on the modelling and operational structure to drive the business to become the global disrupter in the refrigeration sector.

Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Combined Authority:
Business Board member. The board is a combination of industry leaders, the Combined Authority CEO, and local Mayors. It provides the input of the commercial requirements of local industry to the Combined Authority’s vision and ambitions. Apart from ensuring business needs and perspectives have a high priority for the Combined Authority, it ensures the acceleration of the delivery of investment, infrastructure and skills for the new groundbreaking and existing technologically leading industries of the area, helping them to scale at pace.

University of Essex:
Entrepreneur in Residence for its Space to Grow Program within its University Enterprise Zone. With the university team, created and delivered a structured program of regular coaching and mentoring for innovative growth businesses to access an equity investment platform. The advice was delivered on a 1 to1 basis along with a set of webinars under the banner of Investment Readiness, getting your pitch right. £14.5M has been raised by the companies associated with the platform to date.

2012 to 2018 Chief Executive Officer Redring Xpelair – a £50m sales revenue business operating within the heating and ventilation division of Glen Dimplex – the world’s largest manufacturer of electrical heating appliances with significant global positions in domestic appliances, cooling, ventilation, and renewable energy solutions. Xpelair is the market leader for sustainable, eco-friendly ventilation products and Redring offers best in class water heating solutions for residential and commercial premises. Multi-channel specifier driven arena with sales to retail, wholesale, direct b2b with customers in the private and public sectors.
Focused the business to move from traditional sales operations channels with the Introduction of CRM, e-commerce, trading, business process improvement platforms and OMNI channel marketing of products to B2B & B2C customers.

1998 to 2000 Manufacturing Manager Vauxhall Motors UK subsidiary of General Motors Europe (GME) – Responsible for all the functions in the Engine Plant with a workforce of 1000 hourly paid and 48 staff

1998 to 2000 Assembly Manager GME Zurich to lead the development and implemention of the manufacturing strategies for the vehicle and powertrain business in Europe across its 5 sites.
1991 to 1996 Production Manager Vauxhall Motors Selected by GME to lead the start-up of a “Brownfield” engine plant, the first site in GME to introduce the Toyota Production System in which I was fully trained.
